Indian cinematographer, Gopi Amarnath is primarily associated with the Tamil film industry, having made his debut in 2011 with Potta Potti. His second project, Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey, won him positive reviews, following which he was signed up by Thirukumaran Entertainment's head C. V. Kumar to collaborate on Pizza, which was a critically and commercially successful movie. Having won the Vijay Award for Best Cinematographer, Pizza is regarded as his breakthrough and he began working on several big budget movies such as Something Something, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, Aambala, Enakkul Oruvan, Yatchan, Pencil, Maayavan, and Tamizh Padam 2. His 2019 release includes Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, directed by Sundar C.
