A popular TV personality and a film actor, Govind Padmasoorya, better known as GP is noted for his works mainly in Malayalam cinema. Govind, who started his acting career in 2008 with Atayalangal, won wide appreciation for his brilliant acting and went onto grab a nomination at the Amrita TV Film Awards for Best Male Debutant.

Although during his early days in the film industry, Govind playing mostly small and supporting roles, he came to be known portraying versatile characters on screen. He played the role of a cricketer in Daddy Cook (2009) and starred in his maiden role as an antagonist in IG (2009). He got his first major break in the lead with 32aam Adhyayam 23aam Vaakyam (2015). His other notable film credits include Pretham (2016) and Kee (2018), a Tamil sci-fi psychological thriller directed by Kalees.

Apart from films, Govind has also worked extensively in the TV industry, mainly as a host and presenter. Having made his debut on the small screen with D 4 Dance (2014), where he co-hosted the show with Jewel Mary, he went on to host many TV shows and film awards include the Asianet Film Awards 2016, a stage show called Singapore Onam (2016) and the Asianet Film Awards 2017. His other projects includes Kee (2019) and Angu Vaikuntapurathu (2020).
