A carnatic vocalist and a playback singer, Haricharan Seshadri started learning carnatic music at the age of 7 and now is one of the most established musicians in the film industry. After getting trained under stalwarts like K. V. Narayanaswamy and P. S. Narayanaswamy, Haricharan made his playback singing debut in the 2004 movie Kaadhal, under music director Joshua Sridhar, performing the songs `Unakkena Iruppen`, `Thottu Thottu` and `Kaadhal`. He has mainly worked in Tamil and Malayalam movies, recording several hits for popular music directors such as Yuvan Shankar Raja, Harris Jayaraj, G. V. Prakash Kumar, Ilaiyaraaja, Vijay Antony, A. R. Rahman, S. Thaman, and D. Imman. Haricharan`s biggest hits include `Jalsa` from Chennai 600028, `Gala Gala` from Ko, `Machi Open The Bottle` from Mankatha, `Nee Choopule` from Endukante... Premanta!, `Sonapareeya` from Maryan, `Maattram Ondrudhaan Maaradhadhu` from Kochadaiiyaan, and `Vaanga Makka Vaanga` from Kaaviya Thalaivan. In 2017, he lent his voice for songs in the movies Ezra, Kaatru Veliyidai, Cheliyaa and Ninnu Kori. He was also part of One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film (2017), a movie about A.R. Rahman`s concert tour across 14 cities in North America.
