A Grammy Award-nominated musician, Jon Brion is a man of many talents. In the course of a career spanning close to four decades, he has enjoyed considerable success as a singer-songwriter, film score composer, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. Prior to foraying into Hollywood, Brion had associated with bands like The Grays, `Til Tuesday, Jellyfish and The Bats. Besides these, he has also collaborated with renowned artists like Fiona Apple, Beyonce and Kanye West. In 2001, Brion released his debut solo album, titled Meaningless.
Brion made his debut as a film score composer with the neo-noir crime thriller Hard Eight (1996), and has since scored the music for several acclaimed movies. Among these are the ensemble drama Magnolia (1999), the romantic sci-fi comedy-drama Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), the comedy-drama Synecdoche, New York (2008) and the action-comedy The Other Guys (2010). His work in the former two earned Brion Grammy Award nominations for Best Soundtrack for a Motion Picture in their respective years. The comedy-drama Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Step Brothers (2008), This is Forty (2012) and the coming-of-age comedy-drama Lady Bird (2017) are some of the other significant titles in Brion`s discography. His 2018 release includes Christopher Robin.
