Kaifi Azmi (Azmi) is an Indian lyricist and assistant director born in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh (India). Azmi is known for his work as a lyricist in movies like Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959), Razia Sultan (1961) and Heer Ranjha (1970). His awards include National film award 1969 - Best Lyrics, Writer of the Best Film Song on National Integration and two film fare awards 1974 – Best story and Best Dialogue for the movie Garam Hawa (1973).
