Best known for making animation films The Lorax (2012), Kyle Balda is a renowned American animator and film director. Having started his career as an animation artist with Industrial Light and Music, Balda made his debut on the silver screen as an animator with the superhero fantasy comedy film The Mask (1994). He subsequently worked as an animator in films like Jumanji (1995), A Bug`s Life (1998), Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Despicable Me (2010). Apart from working as an animation artist, Balda has also directed many films; he made his directorial debut with The Lorax (2012). His other notable directorial ventures include Minions (2015) and Despicable Me 3 (2017).
