Lee Pace is an American actor who is well-known for his acting prowess across film, theatre and television. Starting his acting career with off-Broadway shows, he made his debut in 2003, Soldier`s Girl (2003) where he played a transsexual character. The role was the turning point in his life as he bagged the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Actor and was also nominated for a Golden Globe for the role. His other notable acting credits include Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008), When in Rome (2010), and Lincoln (2012), after which he got cast as the nomadic vampire Garrett in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, opening new doors of opportunity for him for commercial success making him a favourite of critics as well as the audience. Pace was the cast as the Elf King Thandruil in three films of The Hobbit franchise namely, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014). He joined the Marvel cinematic universe essaying the role of Ronin in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), a role which he reprises in Captain Marvel (2019).
