In an acting career spanning over three decades, Lissy has appeared in around a hundred films, in both leading and supporting roles. She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in the drama film Ithiri Neram Othiri Karyam (1982), and subsequently rose to prominence to become one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry in the 1980s.

The comedies Odaruthammava Aalariyam (1984), Mutharamkunnu P.O. (1985) and Boeing Boeing (1985) were some of her most memorable roles in the early years of her career. Parallel to her Mollywood career, the actress also managed to make a mark in other South Indian film industries as well. While her Kollywood debut came in the Kamal Haasan starrer Vikram (1986), Lissy forayed into Telugu cinema in 1989 with the suspense thriller Sakshi. Ananda Aradhanai (1987), Magaadu (1990) and 20va Shatabdam (1990) were some of her other notable movie credits outside of Malayalam cinema.

Before retiring from acting in the mid-1990s following her marriage, Lissy had earned a permanent place in the hearts of Mollywood audience courtesy of her roles in movies like Thalavattam (1986), Hello My Dear Wrong Number (1986), Oru CBI Diary Kurippu (1988) and Chitram (1988). In 2018, the actress made a comeback to cinema after over two decades with the Telugu romantic drama Chal Mohan Ranga.
