Matthew Steven LeBlanc, better known as Matt LeBlanc, is an American actor, comedian and director. He is best known for his iconic role of the fun-loving playboy character Joey, from the sitcom Friends (1994 - 2004). LeBlanc was born in Massachusetts and moved to New York at the age of 17 to pursue modelling. He was told he was too short to succeed in the industry, which turned him towards acting. His debut screen appearance was in a Heinz commercial. After several small appearances in sitcoms, he got cast for Friends. He went on to play the role of Joey for 12 years, including his own spinoff TV series Joey (2004 - 2006). Other works include a fictionalised version of himself in Episodes (2011-2017) and played a recurring role in Man with a Plan (2016 - 2020). Some of his film credits include Charlie`s Angels (2000), Charlie`s Angels: Full Throttle (2003), and Lovesick (2014).
