Paresh Mokashi is an Indian film director, screenwriter, actor and theatre personality. A two-time National Award winner, he is best known for his work in Marathi films and theatre. Paresh first rose to prominence in 2009, when his directorial debut Harishchandrachi Factory won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi and was subsequently chosen as India’s official entry to the 82nd Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category. His second film, Elizabeth Ekadashi (2014), also opened to near-universal critical acclaim, and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film that year. Besides these, he has also appeared in minor supporting roles in the Hindi TV serial Gubbare and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Other notable film credits as a director include Horror Story Of Bhaapaa (2016) and Chi Va Chi Sau Ka (2017).
