Payal Saluja is an Indian costume designer who is best known for her work on the movie Nanak Shah Fakir (2015) for which she won the National Film Award in 2016. After completing her B.Sc in clothing and textiles, she pursued a postgraduate diploma in Apparel Design from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, India. Payal has been active in the Hindi film industry since the early 2000s and some of her notable movies include Makdee (2002), Maqbool (2003), Manorama Six Feet Under (2006), Ishqiya (2010), Raanjhanaa (2013), Dedh Ishqiya (2014), and Udta Punjab (2016). Apart from contributing to Bollywood, Payal has also worked on several independent projects such as Craft documentation for the Jodhpur royal family, The Rathodes and Costumes and Production Designs for Tenali Rama, a short film by NID students. Her 2017 release includes the movie Baadshaho directed by Milan Luthria.
