Having started out on stage, American actor-writer Rainn Wilson did theatre, both on and off-Broadway and toured with several theatre troupes and acting companies, including The Guthrie and Arena Stage. He made his film debut with the 1999 film Galaxy Quest, after which he was seen in supporting roles in films like Almost Famous (2000), Full Frontal (2002) and House of 1000 corpse (2003). The actor`s portrayal of Arthur Martin in the HBO series Six Feet Under (2003-2005) proved to be a breakthrough in his career.

Later, he earned with his portrayal of Dwight Schrute in the Emmy Award-winning comedy series The Office (2005-2013). In the course of the show`s run, Wilson was nominated thrice for a Primetime Emmy for Best Supporting Actor. Notable television credits include Monk (2003), Backstrom (2015), Roadies (2016) and Star Trek: Discovery (2017). The actor has also appeared in supporting and leading roles in several movies, significant among which are Sahara (2005), Juno (2007), Super (2010), Cooties (2014), The Boy (2015), and Army of One (2016). His other projects include Shimmer Lake (2017), The Meg (2018) and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2019)
