Born in 14th June 1948, Sarbjit Cheema is Punjabi singer-turned-actor. A popular singer in Punjab, Cheema released his first album in 1993, but his most successful song was Rangla Punjab from his album Mela Vekhdiye Mutyare, which released in 1996. He made his acting debut with the film Pind Di Kudi in 2004, co-starring Veena Malik.

Early Life
Sarbjit Cheema was born in Cheema Kalan, a village near Jalandhar, Punjab to S. Piyara Singh Cheema, his father and Harbhajan Kaur, his mother. He is youngest of the three siblings. Sarbjit did his elementary education from his village and completed his matriculation from G.H.S. Nurmahal. For higher studies, he joined Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar and after completing his graduation in History, Cheema went to Canada to live with his elder sister Jaswinder kaur Sandhu.

Personal Life
Sarbjit Cheema tied the knot wit a Punjabi girl, Kamaljit, and has two sons Gurvarparteek Singh Cheema and Sukhmanparteek Singh Cheema from the marriage.

Acting Career
Sarbjit Cheema`s first appearance as a lead actor was in the film Pind Di Kudi in 2004. The movie opened to positive reviews and Sarbjit was praised for his performance. He then co-wrote and starred in Apni Boli Apna Desh, alongside Shweta Tiwari, Gurpreet Ghuggi, and Raj Babbar. In 2013, Sarbjit essayed the role of Gurbaaz, a young leader in the semi-historical drama Punjab Bolda. Based on important historical events connected with Punjab like the partition of the country, and 1984 anti-Sikh holocaust, the movie failed to generate much response at the box office, with Sarbjit being criticized for his character portrayal. His subsequent release in 2013 was the romantic drama film Haani, co starring Harbhajan Mann, and Sonia Mann. A super hit in Punjabi film industry, the movie opened to amazing reviews and garnered appreciation from audiences and critics alike. In 2014, he was seen in Yaar Annmulle 2 with Raja Bath, and Poonam Sood. His 2019 release includes Muklawa.

Essentially a singer, Sarbjit Cheema`s passion for music led him to release various music albums, the most popular being Chandigarh Shehar Di Kuddi. His claim to fame was his super hit Punjabi song Rangla Punjab from his album Mela Vekhdiye Mutyare which released in 1996. His other hits include billo teri tor vekh ke, Dhol Vajda, Rang rara riri rara, Bhangra, Nacho-Nacho, Khatta Doria, Chandigarh Shehar di kudi, Boliyan.
