Best known for playing the role of Debbie in Rock On film series, Shahana Goswami is an Indian TV, film and theater actress. An alumnus of Sophia College, Mumbai, Shahana had a keen interest in sports and dance since school; she represented her school at various competitions in athletics, badminton, basketball, and volleyball at the zonal level. She also is a trained dancer, she learned Odissi for 10 years under the tutelage of Guru Padmashri Kiran Segal and has performed at many places with her dance troupe.

After completing her graduation, Shahana took up acting as a career and started working in the theater industry, her maiden professional performance on stage was with Jaimini Phatak`s theater group Working Title. Later, Shahana worked as a production assistant as well as starred in Jaimini Phatak`s theater products including Seagull and Arabian Nights. It was during her work in the theater that she met Shaanu Sharma, a talent consultant who asked her to audition for a role in Naseeruddin Shah`s maiden feature film directorial venture Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota (2006), which she won and marked her debut on the silver screen. She later appeared in a supporting role in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd (2007), before gaining wide fame and recognition with her role in Rock On!! (2008). Her brilliant performance in the film won her many awards including Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress, Star Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress and IIFA Best Supporting Actress Award.

Apart from working in Bollywood, Shahana has also worked extensively with international artists; she collaborated with the acclaimed directed Deepa Mehta for Midnight`s Children (2012), Vara: A Blessing (2013) and Force of Destiny (2016). Her 2017 releases include Tu Hai Mera Sunday (2017), a comedy-drama directed by Milind Dhaimade. Her 2018 release includes Gali Guleiyan.
