One of the most inspiring artists of India, Sudha Chandran is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and an actress of films and television. It was in June 1981 that Sudha Chandran lost her leg after a road accident in Tamil Nadu. However, her passion for dancing kept her going and she returned to dancing after two years in 1983 and performed in several countries. The following her she made her acting debut with the Telugu movie Mayuri which was based on her own life.

In 1986, she won the Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards for her performance in the movie Mayuri. Sudha has since then appeared in movies such as Kalam Mari Katha Mari (1987), Chinna Poove Mella Pesu (1987), Thanedaar (1990), Milan (1995), Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999), Malamaal Weekly (2006), Ameerin Aadhi Bhagavan (2013).

Sudha is also a popular TV actress and has won several TV awards for her roles in shows such as Kaahin Kissii Roz, Tumhari Disha, Aardram, Deivam Thandha Veedu, Naagin, and Naagin 2. In 2017, she appeared in the movie Tera Intezaar directed by Rajeev Walia.
