Uzo Aduba is an American film and television actress. A two-time Emmy winner, she is best known for her portrayal of Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange is the New Black. Aduba started out in theatre, garnering acclaim through her performances in plays like Translations of Xhosa, Coram Boy and Godspell before making her television debut in a minor role in the police procedural drama Blue Bloods. In 2013, the actress landed her breakout role as Suzanne Warren in Orange is the New Black - a character that has since earned her two Golden Globe nominations, won her two Primetime Emmys and launched her movie career. Since her feature film debut in Pearly Gates (2015), Aduba has appeared in supporting roles in the comedy-drama Tallulah (2016) and crime-drama American Pastoral (2016). Besides these, she has also essayed a voice role in the 2017 animated musical fantasy My Little Pony: The Movie. Other significant acting credits include How to Live Like a Lady (2013), The Wiz Live! (2015) and Showing Roots (2016).
