Valerie Harper (Harper) is an American actor. Harper began her career as a dancer for Broadway Theatre and made her screen appearance in the musical Take Me Along in 1959. Harper is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and served as the Hollywood Board of Directors of SAG. Harper was an advocate of the Equal Rights Amendment and a co-founder of L.I.F.E. a charity in 1983, Los Angeles. Harper is also known for her works in Rhoda, Mary Tyler Moore and Valerie Blame
