About the movie
Velu played by Vijay lives with his widowed mother and an unmarried sister Kaveri (Saranya Mohan). Hansika Motwani plays his love interest in the film. Vijay has to travel to Chennai to withdraw money from a chit fund to collect funds for his sister`s wedding only to find that he has been cheated.
He meets Genelia in Chennai who plays a journalist. Abhimanyu Singh is a very influential underworld don who had also harrased Genelia. She creates a fictional character Velayutham, who is a super-hero of sorts. Genelia however manages to convince Vijay to be the `real` Velayutham to fight corruption in the city.
