About the movie
Mathangi is the Telugu dub of the 2016 Malayalam movie, Aadupuliyattam. The story is about King Udayapandyan who ruled some provinces of Tamil Nadu, 600 years ago. He fell in love with a huntress named Mathangi, married her and built her a bungalow near the forest. When Udayapandyan was defeated in a war, he tooks shelter at Mathangi's bungalow and she vowed to take care of the king. She sacrificed her life before the deity Bhadrakali, to save the life of King Udayapandyan. However, Mathangi's spirit continued to stay on and a yogi performed certain rituals to rein in her spirit. The myth continues as it affects the life of a well-known businessman Satyajith, who leads a happy life with his family.
