Based on the life of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Supreme Court Justice and his battles with one his career-defining cases, Marshall follows the story of a young lawyer (played by Chadwick Boseman) in the conservative Connecticut to defend a black chauffeur (played by Sterling K. Brown) who is charged with sexual assault and attempted murder of his white socialite employer (played by Kate Hudson).
Silenced by a segregationist court, Marshall forms an alliance with a courageous Jewish lawyer, Samuel Friedman (played by Josh Gad) and together they mount the defense in an environment of racism and anti-Semitism.
