About the movie
Set in the late 1950s, Paleri tells the story of the mysterious death of a young woman named Manikyam living in a small Kerala village. Though her in-laws claimed she died from a seizure, the autopsy revealed it to be a murder. Three locals were arrested but later acquitted due to a flawed prosecution, leaving the case unsolved for over 50 years.
Decades later, Haridas, a detective from New Delhi, returns to Paleri determined to uncover the truth behind the cold case. He was born in the same village on the same night when Manikyam was killed. He is joined by Sarayu, a crime analyst. How the case unfolds, and how the mystery is solved forms the crux of the plot.
