Watching a musical with 85 classic songs may seem a daunting process. Especially one with animals as main characters, as theres been a glut of that kind this year (Finding Dory, The Secret Life of Pets, Zootopia, etc.) Yet, the way music blends into the narrative is not only refreshing, but thoroughly enjoyable. Grumbles aside, Sing is going to make more money at the box office than the gross national product of many small countries. My 10-year-old niece (who quite enjoys singing) will want to see it eight times. Shell want to see the sequel and the direct-to-DVD spinoffs and shell want to go to the tie-in events at Universal Studios. As cinema, this isnt anything Im too enthused about.
