About the movie
An Indian girl Tilo has the power to foresee the future. But after her parents are killed, she is brought up by the First Mother of a traditional cult of spice. Upon growing up, she travels to San Francisco and is declared the Mistress of Spices. However, the Mistress of Spices has a few rules to follow; help her achieve their desires with spice and not hers, never leave the store, and never let anyone touched in the skin. When she meets American architect Doug, she feels immense attraction and desire for him, breaking the first rule, which results in her being punished by the spices.
