The nephew of yesteryear filmmaker Zafar Hai, Tabrez Noorani had made a niche for himself as a producer in both American and British cinema well before making his directorial debut with Love Sonia (2018). In a career spanning over two decades, he has been associated with the production of over 20 feature films, which includes Academy Award-winning movies like Slumdog Millionaire (2008) and Life of Pi (2012).

As a line producer, Tabrez has overseen a number of other popular movies like Eat Pray Love (2010), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The producer-turned-filmmaker`s maiden project Love Sonia delved into the dark world of sex trafficking, was inspired by Tabrez`s experiences while working with various NGOs combating human trafficking.
