Born: January 1, 1972 in India
An Indian director and writer, Home Adajania rose to fame with his directorial debut, Being Cyrus, an off-beat English-language psychological drama, which released in 2006. The film received wide critical acclaim and Homi was lauded for his unique and fresh directorial approach. He proved his mettle once again with his second film, Cocktail, a romantic comedy, which proved to be a massive commercial hit. His other notable directorial venture includes the critically acclaimed satire, Finding Fanny (2014), which was selected to be screened at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival in 2015. Apart from directing films and writing scripts, the actor also takes a keen interest in sports. He is a certified Confederation Mondiale des Activities Subaquatiques dive instructor and plays as a winger for Bombay Gymkhana rugby team.

Early Life
Homi Adajania credits his passion for storytelling and filmmaking to his later father who was the president of the Indian Boxing Federation. Before venturing into filmmaking, Homi worked as a diving instructor in the Lakshadweep islands.

Personal Life
Homi Adajania is married to the Vogue India fashion director and Bollywood fashion stylist, Anaita Shroff Adajania. The couple has two children, Zreh and Zane.

Movie Career
Homi Adajania made his directorial debut in 2006 with the critically acclaimed Being Cyrus, an English language Indian film, which was based on a dysfunctional Parsi family. The film, which marked Saif Ali Khan`s debut in an English film also featured eminent actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Boman Irani and Simone Singh. Upon release, the film performed well at the box office and also won seven nominations at the 52nd Filmfare Awards.

Following the huge success with his debut film, the director took a sabbatical for six years before making a comeback in 2012 with yet another commercial and critical hit, Cocktail. For his second film, the director once again collaborated with Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia apart from Deepika Padukone and the debutante, Diana Penty. The film opened to wide positive reviews with Meena Iyer from Times of India stating, "What Cocktail should be truly applauded for is its permissiveness. As a film, it breaks shackles and ushers in a free spirit that Gen-Now will relate to."

In 2014, Homi directed the satirical road comedy, Finding Fanny starring Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur. The film was selected to be screened at the 19th Busan International Film Festival and upon it release in theaters in India, it received wide positive critical reviews. A film reviewer from Bollywood Hungama said, "Writer-director Home Adajania has dared to break to all conventional rules and manages to serve and absorbing and entertaining story that keeps you interested. it will surely appeal to the target group of a discerning audience that values sensible entertainment." Having established himself has one of the most accomplished directors in Bollywood, Homi Adajania mentored the debutante director, Arunima Sharma for her short film, Yellow Tin Can Telephone, which one of the seven short films in the anthology, Shor Se Shuruaat. His 2017 project as a co-producer includes the romantic thriller film Raabta. Directed by Dinesh Vijan, the movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in the lead. His 2019 venture includes The Fakir Of Venice. His 2020 release includes Angrezi Medium.
