James Gunn is an American screenwriter, director, producer, novelist, actor, and musician who made his debut directing the cult horror comedy Slither (2006). He wrote the scripts for several movies like Tromeo and Juliet (1996), Scooby-Doo (2002) and its sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). Gunn also tweaked George A Romero`s zombie horror movie Dawn of the Dead (1978) and wrote the 2004 version for Zack Snyder to direct. He also directed his first superhero movie in Super (2010), which was critically well received.

But it wasn`t until he directed Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), that he rose to worldwide fame. Gunn has also directed the sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). It has Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista reprising their roles. His 2019 release includes Brightburn. He returns to redefine a legend, directing Superman and launching a powerful new chapter in the DC Universe.
