Christopher Michael Pratt is an American film and television actor who came into the limelight with his television roles like Bright Abbott in Everwood (2002-06) and Andy Dwyer in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2009-15).
The Lego Movie, a computer-animated adventure comedy, and
Guardians of the Galaxy, a superhero film are two of his most successful movies, which also got him worldwide popularity.
Early life
Born on June 21, 1979, in Virginia, Minnesota, Chris Pratt`s mother Kathleen Louise worked at a supermarket, and his father Daniel Clifton Pratt, who died in 2014, remodeled houses. He has two older siblings, Cully and Angie. Chris Pratt grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington, and as a high school student stood fifth in a state wrestling tournament. The actor dropped out of a local community college halfway through the first semester, post which he worked as a discount ticket salesman and then a daytime stripper. After that, he ended up homeless in Maui, when he met actress and director Rae Dawn Chong, who cast him in the 2000 short film Cursed Part 3. This worked out well for the actor as he got a role in 2002 series Everwood as an athlete Bright Abbott.

In 2007, Pratt met actress
Anna Faris on the set of the film
Take Me Home Tonight. They played each others` love interests in the movie, which sparked a real life romance. The two got engaged in late 2008 and got married in Bali on July 9, 2009. They have a son Jack, who was born in August 2012.
Movie career
Chris Pratt debuted in the year 2000, when he was just 19-years-old, with short horror film Cursed Part 3. This was also actress and director Rae Dawn Chong`s directorial debut movie. From 2003 to 2008, he worked on various movies including Leslie Libman`s The Extreme Team that revolves around how a secret Black Ops rescue team set out to New Zealand to save a former member who has been kidnapped. During this time, he also appeared in Walk the Talk, Wieners, and
Wanted.
2009 was an excellent year for the actor with many projects to work on. His most notable films in the year were
Bride Wars as Fletcher who is an accountant, and Jennifer`s Body as officer Roman Duda. He was also seen in Christian Forte`s Deep in the Valley as Lester Watts.
Moneyball, a 2011 film, saw Pratt play the role of Oakland Athletics first baseman/catcher Scott Hatteberg. He was considered fat for the role and so worked out regularly to loose weight and eventually won the part. In the movie, he played a dramatic role as a father and also a dejected baseball player. He then worked in the film 10 Years for which he gained back the weight he had lost. Post this, he had to again lose weight to portray Navy SEAL in the 2012 film

Chris Pratt is also popularly known as a television actor, having worked in quite a few television series. He started off with appearing in one episode in The Huntress in 2001 and then played the role of Harold Brighton "Bright" Abbott from 2002 to 2006 in the American drama television series Everwood in all the seasons. Pratt was also nominated for Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Sidekick (2004-2005). In 2005, the actor appeared in Stephen Furst`s television film Path of Destruction where he played the role of a scientist, Nathan McCain. In the same year, he appeared in the television series Strangers with Candy. He gave voice to the character of Jake in The Batman series for one episode in 2008.
In the year 2009, Pratt essayed the role of Andy Dwyer, the trolly Troller, in the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation. When he was cast for the role, it was supposed to be a temporary character, but he was really liked by the producers and was taken in as a series regular. He worked in this series till 2015 and got nominated for Critics` Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (2013). For the series Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Pratt gave his voice for the character Cooper Daniels in two episodes. In 2014, he hosted one episode of the television show Saturday Night Live.
