Born and brought up in the slum area of Pune, Mayur Mahendra Patole is an Indian child actor who made his acting debut with Bollywood biopic Budhia Singh - Born To Run directed by debutant director Soumendra Padhi, which released in 2016. Mayur played the titular role of Budhia Singh, India`s youngest marathon runner who ran from Bhubaneswar to Puri, a distance of 65 km, in just seven hours and two minutes at the mere age of four. The young actor was cast alongside Manoj Bajpayee playing the role of his coach Biranchi Das, and Tillotama Shome, who played his mother`s role. In order to prepare for his role, Mayur lived in the chawl in Bhubaneswar where Budhia lived. He also trained with the CRPF officers and ran just like the youngest marathon runner, leaving the officers behind. Mayur`s debut movie went on to win the National Award for the Best Children`s Film in 2016.
