Stephen Daldry is an English film and stage director. He received Academy Award nominations for films Billy Elliot (2000), The Hours (2002), and The Reader (2008). He is the recipient of the Primetime Emmy Award for producing and directing the Netflix show The Crown. In 2012, he directed the suspense-drama film Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, based on the novel of the same name. His 2015 release includes Trash, a crime-drama film.
