Starting her career as a model, Vaani Kapoor went on to star in the 2009 television series Specials @ 10 after which she made her Bollywood debut with the Yash Raj Films 2013 romance Shuddh Desi Romance, co starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra. The model turned actor appeared with Ranveer Singh in Aditya Chopra`s 2016 romance Befikre.

Early Life
The Indian actor and model was born on the 23rd of August, 1988 in Delhi. Her father, Shiv Kapoor, runs a furniture export business while her mother, Dimpy Kapoor, is a former teacher who has taken up marketing. She completed her schooling at the Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Delhi. She went on to graduate from the Indira Gandhi National Open University with a degree in tourism, after which she interned with Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Jaipur, and worked with ITC Hotel.

Movie Career
Vaani was signed by the Elite Model Management after which she was seen modeling for various brands and was featured in a number of catalogs, endorsing products. She then auditioned for a television show in 2009 and was cast in Sony TV`s series Specials @ 10, where she starred in the episode titled Rajumen as the protagonist.

After the one episode stint on television, Vaani bagged a three movie deal with one of Bollywood`s most prestigious production house Yash Raj Films. She made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance co starring Parineeti Chopra and Sushant Singh Rajput in pivotal roles. For her portrayal of Tara, Vaani received seven nominations out which she went on to win five, including the Filmfare Award, Screen Awards, Star Guild Awards, and Zee Cine Awards for Best Female Debut. After her debut movie became a commercial success, the actor was seen cast opposite Nani in Aaha Kalyanam, the Tamil remake of Maneesh Sharma`s 2010 romantic comedy Band Baaja Baaraat. Her projects for 2016 include yet another Yash Raj Films movie, Befikre co starring Ranveer Singh. The romance revolves around the lives of two people who meet each other in Paris and end up falling in love. Her 2019 release includes War. Her other notable works include Bell Bottom (2021), Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021) and Shamshera (2021).
