Adrienne Barbeau a.k.a. Adrienne Jo Barbeau is an American actress and the author of three books. She was born on June 11, 1945 and raised in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Armene and Joseph Barbeauan, an executive for Mobil Oil. She was active in theatre in school and college and soon became the member of the San Jose Light Opera. She made her debut in the chorus of Fiddler on the Roof. Barbeau got cast in numerous television films and shows such as The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Valentine Magic on Love Island, and Battle of the Network Stars. In 1979, she married director John Carpenter, whom she met on the set of his 1978 TV movie, Someone's Watching Me!. They got separated in 1984, they had a son named, John Cody. In 1992, she again married an actor, producer Billy Van Zandt, they met during his play, Drop Dead!. They had twin boys. Her work with horror directors includes the Wes Craven comic book monster movie Swamp Thing (1982). During the 1990s, she became best known for providing the voice of Catwoman on Batman: The Animated Series (1992). She won the prestigious Theater Guild Award for her portrayal of Betty Rizzo in the original Broadway production of "Grease". There Are Worse Things I Could Do is the one of her three books.
