An American born Indian actress, Anu Emmanuel is noted for her work in the South Indian film industry, especially in Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil cinema. Having made her debut on the silver screen as a child artist with the Malayalam film Swapna Sanchari (2011), she made her debut in a lead role with Action Hero Biju (2016). After a successful stint in the Malayalam industry, the actress then forayed in Telugu film industry and over the years have starred in films like Manju (2016), Oxygen (2016) and Kittu Unnadu Jagratha (2017).

Early Life
Anu Emmanuel was born in a typical Malayali family in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The actress is the daughter of Thankachan Emmanuel who works as a producer in the Malayalam film industry and Nimmy Emmanuel. After completing her schooling in Kerala, Anu moved to US to pursue further studies. Although, the actress has lived in the US for most of her childhood and teenage life, she has a good command over Malayalam language. Reba Monica John, the noted Indian film actress and model is her cousin.

Movie Career
Anu Emmanuel made her acting debut in Swapna Sanchar directed by Kamal. The actress said that getting a role in a feature film was a stroke of luck, the director of the movie who had met her for a discussion, wanted to cast her in his movie because he felt that she would perfectly suit the role of Ashwathy. Anu who always aspired to pursue a career in film immediately accepted the offer. For her role as the daughter of Jayaram and Samvrutha Sunil, Anu won many praises from the critics as well as the audience. While she was working on the film, she was studying in ninth grade. After her debut movie, the actress left for US to complete her studies.

She made her comeback in 2016 with a Malayalam film Action Hero Biju where she played the lead role opposite superstar Nivin Pauly. The film, which was the second directorial venture of Abrid Shine, released in February 2016 and got positive critical reviews. After her success in the Malayalam film industry, the actress moved to work in Telugu films and made her debut in Tollywood with the action film Majnu (2016) directed by stalwart director Virinchi Varma co-starring Nani and Priya Shri Raj Tarun and Arbaaz Khan. Her 2017 releases include Kittu Unnadu Jagratha, a Telugu-language film co-starring Raj Tarun and Arbaaz Khan.

In 2021, she was associated with Santosh Srinivas directorial Alludu Adhurs. The movie stars Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Nabha Natesh in prominent roles.
