Primarily known for appearing in supporting and character roles, Dayashankar Pandey is an Indian actor, who is known for his work in the Hindi film industry. He made his feature film debut with the 1993 comedy thriller Pehla Nasha and has since appeared in around 50 movies, mostly in Bollywood. Some of his best remembered roles have come in the epic sports-drama Ghulam (1998) and Lagaan (2001), the crime film Gangaajal (2003), the drama film Swades (2004) and the political thriller Raajneeti (2011). Dayashanker has also acted in movies like Aankhen (2002), Makdee (2002), Maqbool (2003), Ramji Londonwaley (2005), Apaharan (2005), Dharm (2007), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008), Delhi-6 (2009), Anna, Kisan Baburao Hazare (2016), the Gujarati film Bhanwar (2017), Jaane Kyun De Yaaron (2018), and Raakshas (2018). Besides these, the actor has also appeared in popular tv shows like Kituu Sabb Jaantii Hai (2005-2006), F.I.R. (2006-2015), Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (2008- ), Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev (2011-2014), Edit Lakhon Mein Ek (2012- ), and Badii Devrani (2013-2015).

In 2018 Dayashankar Pandey appeared alongside Abhinay Banker, Monal Gajjar, Yatin Karyekar, Prashant Barot, and Rupa Borgaonkar in Rahul Bhole and Vinit Kanojia's Gujarati drama film, Reva. The movie is based on the 1998 novel "Tatvamasi" by renowned Gujarati writer Dhruv Bhatt.
