Olsen started with singing and ballet classes when she was a child, and first appeared in her sisters` films such as How The West Was Fun in 1994 at the age of five. While appearing in her sisters` movies, Olsen also auditioned for other roles. Meanwhile, she attended Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood from her kindergarten until her twelfth grade. She attended New York University`s Tisch School of Arts after her graduation, and spent a semester in 2009 in Moscow where she studied at the Eugene O`Neill Theater Center under the Moscow Art Theatre School program. While at the NYU, she also studied at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New York City.
