Television and movie actor Gautam Rode is best remembered for playing the titular role in Star Plus` romantic drama Saraswatichandra, featuring Jennifer Winget in the female lead. Son of a retired broker and a jewelry designer, Gautam completed his schooling at the Army Public School, following which he graduated from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. Making his acting debut, Gautam was seen in Zee TV`s show Jahan Pyaar Mile in 1995. It was only in 2005 that he gained prominence on television with Star TV`s prime time show Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.
He made his movie debut in 2002 with the Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Ashutosh Rana, and Preeti Jhangiani-starrer action thriller Annarth, playing the role of Inspector Sameer Deshmukh, winning praises from film critic Taran Adarsh. Some of his other movie credits include U, Bomsi & Me, and Agyaat. Meanwhile, Gautam continued to be a part of multiple television shows such as Lucky, Intezaar, Simplly Sapney, Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na, Kashi - Ab Na Rahe Tera Kagaz Kora, and Mera Naam Karegi Roshan. His most prominent television roles are Saraswatichandra Vyas from Saraswatichandra, which won him innumerable awards and nominations along with a huge fan following, and Karna from Suryaputra Karn. In 2017, Gautam made his debut as a lead actor with the suspense thriller movie Aksar 2, co-starring Zareen Khan.
