An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Lalit Tiwari is an Indian film and television actor who is best known for his roles in movies like Lamhe (1991), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Well Done Abba! (2009). He made his feature film debut in the 1987 drama Yeh Woh Manzil To Nahin, and has since appeared in supporting roles in over 40 movies in a career spanning over three decades. Besides Bollywood, the actor has also appeared in several television shows, and is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of Sanjaya in the mythological series Mahabharat. Other significant acting credits include Chandni (1989), Darr (1993), Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005) and Shyam Benegal's Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008).
