Since her debut in Marathi cinema in 2014, actress Mrunal Thakur's career has consistently been on the upward trajectory; thanks to a handful of memorable roles in both Indian and international cinema. She started out on television, rising to prominence with the popular soap opera Kumkum Bhagya before foraying into Marathi cinema through movies like Vitti Dandu (2014) and Surajya (2014).

In 2018, Mrunal appeared in the titular role in the film Love Sonia, which followed the story of a young girl's quest to save her sister from the vicious world of sex trafficking. The acclaimed film, which was directed by Tabrez Noorani, also co-starred Freida Pinto, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Demi Moore, Mark Duplass and Anupam Kher. Among the actress' other significant movie credits is the Bollywood biographical drama Super 30 (2019), which was directed by Vikas Behl and starred Hrithik Roshan in the central role.
