The two-time Golden Globe Awards and Primetime Emmy Award nominations, Mary Rose Byrne, better known by her screen name, Rose Byrne is best remembered for her roles in the Australian feature film The Goddess of 1967 (2000). The Australian actress, for his brilliant role in the film, won her maiden Volpi Cup for Best Actress.

Born and raised in the suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Byrne, the daughter of Robin Byrne, a retired statistician and Jane Byrne, a primary administrator is of Irish and Scottish descent. The youngest of her four siblings, Byrne had a keen interest in acting from a very early age and she began taking acting classes when she was just an eight-year-old kid. Initially trained at the Australian Theatre for Young People, she later joined the University of Sydney and in 1999 she went to Atlantic Theater Company to study acting.

Having started her acting career at a very young age, she made her debut in a feature film at the age of 13 with Dallas Doll (1994), an Australian film directed by Ann Turner. Following her debut, she mostly worked in Australian films until she made her debut in Hollywood with Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) where she played the role of Dorme. Post-2002, Byrne worked in several Hollywood films and some of her notable credits include Troy (2004), Insidious (2010), The Internship (2013), The Meddler (2015), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), and Peter Rabbit (2018), where she sent his voice to the character named Beatrix `Bea` Potter.

Apart from films, Byrne has also worked extensively in the TV industry and has also done plenty of theatres. Some of her notable credits on the small screen include Echo Point (1995), Big Sky (1999), Casanova (2005), Hollywood Game Night (2013), No Activity (2016) and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (2017). Her 2021 release includes Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, directed by Will Gluck.
