One of the most prominent actors of South Indian cinema, Saikumar Sarma Pudipeddi is a multiple award-winner who appears in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada movies. Son of the popular dubbing artist P. J. Sarma, Saikumar followed his father`s footstep at a very young age and began his career as a dubbing child artist. He has dubbed for veteran actors such as Dr. Rajasekhar, Rajinikanth, and Amitabh Bachchan. However, Saikumar rose to fame with the 1996 Kannada movie Police Story. After this breakthrough performance of his career, Saikumar subsequently delivered several blockbusters such as Mane Mane Ramayana (1996), Agni IPS (1997), Police Bete (1997), and Police Story 2 (2007).

In 2006, the actor received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Nandi Award for Best Villain for his performance in the Telugu movie Samanyudu. Saikumar achieved another double in 2010: winning the Filmfare Award and the Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Telugu movie Prasthanam. His 2015 film RangiTaranga opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences while Saikumar was praised for his performance. He received another Filmfare Award and IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor for the movie.

In 2017, the actor starred in the movies Om Namo Venkatesaya and Jai Lava Kusa. His 2018 release includes Bruhaspati, the Kannada re-make of the 2014 Tamil movie, VIP. He is associated 2018 Tamil drama Brahmanda Nayagan directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, which features Nagarjuna Akkineni, Anushka Shetty and Pragya Jaiswal as lead characters. His 2018 releases include Kismath and Subrahmanyapuram. His 2019 releases include Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya and Suvarna Sundari.
