Sathish Krishnan is an Indian film actor and choreographer who mainly works in the Tamil films as a supporting actor. A trained dancer, Sathish rose to fame by appearing as a participant in the first season of the popular TV dance show, Maanada Mayilada and winning the title of Best Dancer. After making his mark as a dancer, Satish went on to become a choreographer for dance talent shows like Jodi No 1 and Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhudeva.
Apart from working as a dancer and choreographer in the TV industry, Sathish has also worked on the big screen. He got his big break when stalwart director Gautham Menon roped him in as a choreographer for his 2012 bilingual film, Neethane En Ponvasantham. After his debut venture, he went to work in several big budget films like Madras, Vaalu, and Kabali. The actor-choreographer has been working as the lead instructor at the Flyerz dance company for more than decade.

Satish Krishnan started his career in TV by appearing as a participant in the Tamil dance reality TV show, Dance Machi Dance and Aatam Paatam, which was aired on Kalaignar TV. Following his debut appearance, he was then selected as one of the contestants to be paired in the first season of the Dance TV show, Maanada Mayilada where he won the title of Best Dancer. After the show, he went on to feature in Jodi Number One - Season 4 where he ended being the runner-up along with his partner Divyadarshini. Later he went on to become the choreographer for dance shows like Jodi No 1 and Ungalil Yar Adutha Prabhudeva. Apart from choreographing TV shows, Satish has also choreographed TV commercials for several renowned brands like 7UP, DIXCY Scot undergarments in Tamil.
As an Actor
After having established himself as an accomplished dancer and choreographer in the TV industry, he got his breakthrough on the silver screen and made his debut as an actor in the 2007 Tamil film, Unnale Unnale directed by Jeeva. The film starring Vinay Rai, Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee got mixed critical reviews but it went on to become one of the biggest hits at that year. A year later, director Gautham Menon announced that he would launch Satish as a lead actor along with three newcomers and Trisha Krishnan in his directorial venture titled Chennaiyil Oru Mazhailkaalam. The film was shot over irregular intervals in 2008 before it was finally canceled and shelved. Later in the same year, Gautham Menon cast Satish in Vaaranam Aayiram (2008) in a supporting role as Suriya Sivakumar`s friend. The film co-starring Simran Bagga, Divya Spandana, and Sameera Reddy received wide critical acclaim and went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil.
After back to back successful films, in 2009, Satish announced that he would star in a lead role in Mudivilla Punnagai, the debut directorial venture of Srikanth. However, the film never released and was shelved before the production was completed. The actor`s next film appearance came in 2013 as he featured in the Tamil language crime-drama film, Thalaivaa, which was written and directed by A.L. Vijay. The actor had only a small role in the film as a dance troupe member alongside the lead actor Vijay. Two years later, the actor made his debut as a lead actor in the Sinish Sreedharan directed Tamil thriller film, Endrendum. The film co-starring Priyanka Reddy opened to mostly negative reviews and was a box-office flop. In 2015, the actor appeared in minor roles in two films, viz. Uppu Karuvaadu directed by Radha Mohan and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, where he had a special appearance. Both the films received wide positive reviews and emerged to be a hit at the box office. The later was also dubbed in Telugu as Nennu Rowdy Ne.
Sathish Krishnan`s 2016 release includes Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, a Tamil action-romance film written and directed by Gautham Menon. The film starring Silambarasan and Manjima Mohan opened to positive reviews. His other 2016 release includes Tharkappu.
As a Choreographer
Satish Krishnan worked as choreographer for the super hit Tamil film, Kabali starring the superstar Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte.
Satish has worked with the noted music director, Anirudh Ravichander and choreographed songs such as Chancey illa illa and Avalukenna in the album composed by him.
