Shraddha Das is a film actress who has worked in Bollywood as well as other regional film industries like Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali. She is best known for her roles in movies like Arya 2 (2009), Lahore (2010) and Sanam Teri Kasam (2016).

Early Life
Shraddha was born and brought in Mumbai, to Bengali parents. She graduated from South Indian Education Society college of Commerce and Economics with a Bachelor of Mass Media degree in journalism.

Her interest in acting took shape while participating in theatre activities in college and attending workshops conducted by Piyush Mishra, Chittaranjan Giri and Salim Shah. She took training in the Gladrags Academy and also modeled for print advertisements like McDowells, Aristocrat and over 400 catalogues.

Movie Career
Shraddha made her Bollywood debut with the film Lahore (2010) in which she played a Pakistani psychiatrist. The film dealt with Indo-Pak relations. It was the very first film she acted in the last year of her college but the film released much later. She received acclaim from the critics for her performance.

It was in 2008 that she had her first release in the form of the Telugu film Siddhu from Sikakulam wherein she played a minor role as the lead actress` cousin. Her next film was again a Telugu film Target (2009). She signed further 4 more Telugu projects - 18, 20 Love Story, Diary, Adhineta and Sukumar`s Arya 2. But of the four, only Arya 2 managed to make a mark critically and commercially.

Arya 2 saw Shraddha getting a slew of projects in Telugu cinema. The year 2010 saw her being a part of three Telugu films Darling, Maro Charitra and Nagavalli. She played supporting roles in all the three aforementioned films.

Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji (2011) was her second Hindi film in which she was cast as a radio jocket, opposite Omi Vaidya.. She debuted in the Kannada film industry with Hosa Prema Purana in 2012, while the year 2013 saw her debuting in Malayalam cinema with Dracula 2012.

Being of Bengali origin, it was only six years after her first release did she act in a Bengali film The Royal Bengal Tiger (2014). The same year, she starred in Hindi films Lucky Kabootar and Zid. While the former was a romantic comedy the latter was a much publicized erotic thriller. Both the films were box office failures.

After both her outing in Bollywood tanking at the box office, Shraddha returned to the Telugu film industry. But there as well, the string of flops continued as her film Rey (2015) bombed. She tried her luck in the horror genre with the film Ouija (2015), but that too didn`t fare well at the box office.

The Bollywood romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam, the adult comedy Great Grand Masti, the Bengali action comedy Badsha the Don and the Telugu crime comedy Guntur Talkies were the films Shraddha appeared in during 2016. The following year, she appeared in the action crime drama Babumoshai Bandookbaaz (2017), which featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role. Among the actress` other recent film credits are the Tollywood spy thriller PSV Garuda Vega (2017), the Kannada movie Kotigobba 3 (2019) and Panther (2019). Her 2020 release includes Imsai Arasi, directed by Praveen Sattaru.
