Based on the Tamil movie Adhey Kangal, Neevevaro has an interesting premise involving a mix of crime, romance and thriller elements backed by a reasonably efficient cast, but the narrative takes too long to generate any momentum and sparkles only intermittently. The film is built like a puzzle where a protagonist and his confidante have to crack different clues to reach their destination, but Neevevaro makes this whole process look too easy and simple. It hurts to see a film that squanders its chance to narrate a gripping story. Perhaps, its also worth remembering that when a chef at an Italian restaurant makes his signature dish, he wouldnt add too many Indian masalas to suit our palette. Thats not what you signed up for! It doesnt take the audience too long to smell that something is fishy. Even if you have not watched the original, you can gauge the direction this film is taking. Till the interval, the film drags with a lot of time spent on showing Aadhis pre-engagement ceremonies.
