About the movie
Set in the 1930s, this heartbreaking adaptation of Evelyn Waugh`s classic romantic English novel tells the story of an unworldly undergraduate Oxford University student Charles` friendship with a flamboyant and aristocratic Sebastian, son of Lord and Lady Marchmain. Charles in entranced by the opulent splendour of their huge mansion, Brideshead, and is completely seduced by the glamorous world of the eccentric English upper class family. However he soon finds out that privilege, ambition, and desire all come at a price as he is sucked into the intrigues of the Marchmain family.
