Alexander Michael Roe-Brown, popularly known as Alex Roe, is an English film and television actor who is best known for playing the lead character in the sci-fi tv series The Fugitives and his supporting role in the sci-fi thriller The Fifth Wave (2005).
Early Life
Roe was born in Westminster, London, on 18 June, 1990. He attended the Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, London. His flair for acting was first spotted in a school performance by noted comedienne and actress
Jennifer Saunders, who cast him in a guest role in the sitcom Jam and Jerusalem.
Personal LifeRoe has a twin sister. Besides acting, he enjoys playing football and had, at one point, aspired to pursue the sport at a professional level.
In 2014, Roe was rumoured to be in a relationship with actress
Olivia Cooke.
Movie CareerRoe made his feature film debut at the age of 10, with the straight-to-video horror movie
The Calling (2000). After a long stint in TV, he returned in 2014 with the direct-to-video action film Sniper: Legacy.
In 2016, Roe had his first big break in a major role in a commercially successful film, courtesy of The Fifth Wave. The sci-fi thriller, which was based on the novel of the same name, had Roe starring alongside
Chloe Grace Moretz,
Ron Livingston and
Liev Schreiber. The movie earned around $110 million in the box office despite the poor critical reception. In 2017, the actor was cast in key roles in the psychological horror thriller The Rings and the drama Hot Summer Nights.
Television Career
Alex Roe made his television debut with a starring role in the sci-fi series The Fugitives. In 2010, he guest-starred as Elliott Baden in the teen drama The Cut. In the following year, he appeared in guest roles in long-running tv shows like Holby City, Doctors and Hollyoaks. The actor has since appeared in the legal drama The Jury and the 2014 TV movie Unstrung.
