Gautam Gulati is a prominent figure in the Hindi television industry who gained popularity for his role in the television series Diya Aur Baati Hum. He shot up to fame when he won the Colors TV reality show Bigg Boss 8.

Early Life
Gautam was born in Delhi to Anurag Gulati and has an an elder brother Mohit Gulati. He belongs to a middle class family and graduated from Hansraj College, Delhi university.

Television career
Gautam had a very good start to his television career in 2008 when he bagged roles in three television series - Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, Kasamh Se and Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna. The Ekta Kapoor production Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki(2008-09), a modern version of the epic Mahabharata, saw the actor essay the role of Duryodhan (teenage). He played Varun Sahil Bali in the soap opera Kasamh Se (2008-09), which revolved around three Dixit sisters who live in Mount Abu with their widower father. He portrayed the character of Teji in the Star Plus channel soap opera Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna(2008-10), which is the story of two sisters who can go up to any extent for each other`s happiness but their dreams about marriage are completely different.

After this, Gautam was seen in another Ekta Kapoor production Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani as Shauraya Khanna. With the main lead played by Vivian Dsena and Sukirti Kandpal, the show revolves around a young child Pia, who is promised that she will be protected wherever she is but gets a reality check when she is in Dehradun. In Diya Aur Baati Hum (2011-16), he essayed the character of Vikram Arun Rathi for which he was nominated for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Comedy) at the 13th Indian Telly Awards (2014).

Winning the eighth season of the Indian reality television series Bigg Boss aired on Colors TV was a huge leap in Gautam`s life, getting him nationwide fame and popularity. For this show, he won many awards including Stylish Male in a reality show at Television Style Awards (2015), Most Fit Male Actor at 8th Boroplus Gold Awards (2015), and Most stylish Male in reality series Indian Television Academy Awards (2015). With Bigg Boss 8, Gautam emerged as a huge celebrity, which got him to appear as a guest in prestigious television shows like Farah Ki Daawat (2015) and India`s Next Top Model (2015). He had many other significant projects lined up in 2015. He was roped in as a host with the MTV Big F, a finite television episodic series broadcast by MTV India which deals with youngster`s forbidden fantasies by showcasing stories of youngsters in every episode. He was seen in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded and appeared as a guest in the ninth season of Bigg Boss.

Movie career
Gautam appeared in a music video called "Teddy Bear" featuring Kanika Kapoor, Ikka Singh and Sakshi Salve for the promotion of Sakshi`s book The Big Indian Wedding. He started his career by working as an assistant director of Salman Khan`s film Veer. After creating a strong presence in the television industry, the actor set out to do the same in the film industry. He made his movie debut with Rakesh Mehta`s short film Darpok (2014), in which he essayed the role of Jogi, a troubled 28-year-old traumatised for not being able to save his mother from being raped. It was screened at the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival. This followed with Siddhartha-The Buddha in which he portrayed the role of Devadutta. His third film, Mohammad Azharuddin`s biopic Azhar (2016), was a big jump for the actor in which played the Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri as Ravi Goel. This Ekta Kapoor production, featured Emraan Hashmi in the titular role, and was a moderate success. His other releases include Behen Hogi Teri (2017), Virgin Bhanupriya (2020), Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai (2021) and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui (2021).
