An actor, comedian, film director, and screenwriter, Jordan Haworth Peele is active in the entertainment industry since 2002. Among all his work, he is well-known for starring in the Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele, alongside Keegan-Michael Key. The American actor is also popular for being a cast member of the comedy sketch television series MADtv.
Early life
Jordan Peele was born on February 21, 1979 in New York City, to a biracial couple, with his father being an African-American and his mother, a white. He attended the Computer School in I.S. 44 for Junior High School, and then went to The Calhoun School for high school. Post this, he studied at the Sarah Lawrence College.
Personal life
Jordan Peele started dating the comedian-cum-actress Chelsea Peretti, in 2013. Two years later, they got engaged, and then married in 2016.
Television career
Jordan Peele started off with performing regularly as part of a creative group Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. He became popular for portraying the character Danish Supermodel Ute and was known for his musical duets with Nicole Parker at Boom Chicago. He was also a part of the theater troupe The Second City in Chicago. In 2002, the comedian gained a little more reach by hosting MTV’s comedy weekend. Along with actress Gillian Jacobs, he appeared on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast as the disqualified American singer Jermaine Jones.

The next year, 2003, was a turning point in the professional life of Peele. He joined in, as one of the cast members of MADtv – an American comedy sketch television series – for its ninth season. He was cast with Keegan-Michael Key because the two shared a brilliant comic timing together. Peele worked in the series from 2003 to 2008. After an association of five seasons with MADtv, he left the cast at the end of the 13th season.

In 2006, the actor made an appearance in "Weird Al" Yankovic's music video "White & Nerdy". He was then seen in a viral video titled Hillary vs Obama. For a music video parody Sad Fitty Cent showing Peele’s rivalry with Kanye West, Peele was nominated for a 2008 Emmy. In 2009, Peele appeared in the FOX comedy TV movie The Station, and also in one episode of comedy television series Reno 911. Post this, between 2010 and 2015, he portrayed the role of Dr. Brian in the comedy television and web series Childrens Hospital. For his role of a black bisexual doctor with the catchphrase “Righteous”, he received good reviews. Peele was seen in seasons 2 and 3, along with a guest appearance in season 5. He then worked on one episode in Love Bites in 2011.

Following this, came a huge success for the actor-comedian. This was with Key & Peele, a Comedy Central sketch television series, created by Jordon Peele himself and Keegan-Michael Key . The show consisted of many pre-taped sketches starring the two actors and ran from 2012 to 2015. The series won Peabody Award and Primetime Emmy Award, along with being nominated for awards like Writers Guild Award and NAACP Image Award. In 2013, he made guest appearances in a few television series, but just for one episode in each. These include The Mindy Project, Workaholics, Comedy Bang! Bang!, Axe Cop and Modern Family. He then was seen in two episodes of the series Kroll Show. Again in 2014, he worked on various projects like Bob’s Burgers for five episodes, Fargo for four episodes, and Drunk History and Robot Chicken for one episode each. In the following year, he was seen in Rick and Morty, and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, and Life in Pieces.
movie career
Jordan Peele’s film career took off in the year 2008 with Boner Boyz, a short film. His next project was two years later in 2010 in the American comedy film Little Fockers, co-starring Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo, Jessica Alba, and Barbra Streisand. Along with this, he also appeared as Rob in the short film 3B. Post this, he was seen in a supporting role in David Wain’s comedy Wanderlust. He worked on another short film The Sidekick as Sidecar Willy in the year 2013.
In 2016, Peele starred in Peter Atencio’s action comedy Keanu, where he essayed the role of an assassin alongside Keegan-Michael Key. The duo has also produced the movie, with Peele being one of the co-writers: the other writer being Alex Rubens. In the same year, he also voiced the character of Beta Wolf in the animated movie Storks. The following year, Peele voiced the character of Melvin Sneedly in the animated movie Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017).
As a Director
The actor turned director in 2017 with the movie horror movie Get Out starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford, and Caleb Landry Jones. The movie went on to become a hit and was critically and commercially acclaimed.
