Born on 19 June 1985, Kajal Aggarwal is an Indian film actress, who predominantly appears in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films. She started her Bollywood career with a small role in Kyun....! Ho Gaya Na in 2004 and her first Telugu release was Lakshmi Kalyanam in 2007. Having been nominated for several Filmfare Awards South, she has acted in blockbusters like Magadheera (2009), Darling (2010), and

Early LifeKajal Aggarwal was born in Mumbai to Vinay Aggarwal and Suman Aggarwal. She has a younger sibling, Nisha Aggarwal, who is also an actor down South and is married to Mumbai-based businessman Karan Valecha. Kajal Aggarwal did her schooling and junior college at St. Anne`s High School, Colaba, Mumbai and Jai Hind College, Mumbai respectively. A graduate of Mass Media from K.C College, Mumbai, she did an internship with L`Oreal before taking up a career in acting.

Acting careerKajal appeared in a minor role in 2004 movie, Kyun!.... Ho Gaya Na, but got her first major break opposite Kalyan Ram in a Telugu film, Lakshmi Kalyanam, which released in 2007. Directed by Teja, the movie bombed at the box office and failed to garner any positive reviews. Her second release in the same year, Chandamama, directed by Krishna Vamsi was a commercial hit, and her performance was well appreciated.
In 2008, Kajal Aggarwal starred in a few Tamil films like Pazhani, Saroja, and Bommalattam. Pazhani was a commercial success, but the latter two failed miserably at the box office.
Kajal Aggarwal received her first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress for the film
Magadheera. A historical drama, the movie directed by S. S. Rajamouli starred Ram Charan Teja opposite her. It was a blockbuster and broke several records of the Telugu film industry.
