Elisabeth Marie Haydon, better known by her onscreen name, Lisa Haydon is an Indian model and actress. Although the tall and beautiful actress is relatively new in Bollywood, she has made her mark in the industry with her strong performances in the 2014 super hit comedy-drama movie Queen and The Shaukeens. Lisa has shown her versatility as an artist by working as a TV host and Fashion Designer with elan. Long before she set her foot in the film industry, Lisa adorned the covers of various Magazines and has been a popular model. In her short career so far, Lisa has got multiple nominations for her acting and has won the Lions' Gold Award for Favorite Award in Supporting Role (Female) in 2015.
Early LifeLisa was born in a typical Hindu family, her father Venkat is a Malayali and her Mother, Anna Haydon is an Australian. Born on 17th June 1986, in Chennai, Lisa grew up in Australia and spent most of her childhood and teenage years there, eventually returning back to India in 2007 when she was 21. Lisa has a younger sister, Mallika Haydon, who is a model. The actress says she is very close to her mom and sister and considers them as her biggest support system. Graduated in Psychology, Lisa started working at a young age; she did her first modeling assignment at the age of 18. She started modeling in Australia and her first assignment was for a stretch mark cream. Since her younger sister, Mallika worked as a model, she was encouraged by it and after moving to India, she walked the ramp at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. After walking the ramp for the leading designers in the nation, she became the face of one of the leading global cosmetics brand, Lakme. In March 2011, she adorned the cover page of the leading fashion magazine, Verve. The gorgeous actress also has graced the covers of Elle, FHM, Femina and Harper's Bazar.
Personal LifeLisa, known for her impeccable style and persona maintains that she is single after her split with her ex-boyfriend, Karan Bhojwani. The couple dated for one year between 2013 and 2014 and were even engaged but eventually called off their relationship.
Acting CareerLisa made her acting debut in 2010 with Aisha.The movie, which was produced by Anil Kapoor had Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles. Although she had a side role, she essayed the role of Aarti Menon, a New York returned, Corporate professional to perfection. After signing the movie, Lisa went to New York to learn method acting for about three months and after coming back, she even took classes to improve her Hindi diction. Post Aisha, in 2011, Lisa appeared in David Dhawan's drama-action movie, Rascals starring Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn.
Although her acting in first two movies went unnoticed, Lisa turned it around for herself and got the audience sit up and take note of her when she appeared in the 2014 super-hit film Queen where she played the role of Vijaylaxmi, a single mother who is independent and lives life on her own terms. Her role was praised by critics and the movie was a big box office hit. In her next release in the same year, The Shaukeens, which was the remake of the 1982 film of the same name, Lisa played the lead role alongside Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Akshay Kumar. Although the movie got decent reviews, it was a commercial failure. The year 2016 seems to be a promising one for the actress as she has a few big projects in her kitty including Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan in the lead roles. Her recent releases in 2016 are Santa Banta Pvt Ltd and Housefull 3 opposite Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandes and Boman Irani. Apart from being successful on the big screen, the actress has made her mark in the Television too, she has been part of the India's Next Top Model, a reality show on MTV India as judge and host.
