A beautiful contemporary actor, Miya George has been in the film industry since 2010. She started off with walking on the ramp and turned to be a known actress of the south. Miya has been part of serials, Tamil movies, Telugu movies but she predominantly worked in the Malayalam movies.
Early life
Miya was born in a Malayali Christian family to George and Mini in Mumbai, in the year 1992. She has one elder sister Gini. She was in Mumbai until she turned five and then moved to Palai in Kottayam, Kerala. She studied at the Sacred Heart Girls High School and St. Mary`s Higher Secondary School, both in Bharananganam. She pursued her B.A. degree from Pala Alphonsa College and completed Masters in English Literature at St. Thomas College, Pala.
Movie Career
As a model, she gained fame when she won Kerala Miss Fitness in 2012. Her acting career started with playing supporting roles in the television serial Alphonsamma and Kunjali Marakkar. Miya`s first feature debut was with 2010 release
Oru Small Family, under the direction of Rajasenan. Later in 2012, she bagged her first lead role in the movie
Navagatharkku Swagatham.
In 2014 she made her debut in Tollywood with
Amara Kaaviyam. It is for this movie that she won awards like TNSFA, Best Actress Tamil and Behindwoods Gold Medal for Best Actress Tamil. In the same year, she won 11th Ramu Kariat Awards Youth Icon of the year award.
One of Miya`s most successful films in 2016 includes
Paavada, in which she once again shared screen space with Prithviraj Sukumaran. This G. Marthandan direction was a huge commercial success and earned positive reviews from critics. Her other releases like
Hello Namasthe, the romantic film
Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti, and
Vetrivel opposite Sasikumar, were average successes. She was also part of the lead cast in the Tamil drama-romance movie
