Rinku Rajguru is an Indian actress, who made her debut with the blockbuster Marathi movie,
Sairat that released in 2016. The movie went on to become the highest-grossing movie of Marathi cinema and Rinku won a Special Mention Award at the National Awards for her performance in the movie.
Early Life
Rinku was born on 3rd June 2001 in Akluj, a town in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. She will be completing her schooling from Jijamata Kanya Prashala in the year 2017. Apart from being one of the top scorers in her school, the studious Rinku is passionate about dancing and regularly practices the art. Although she loves to sing and dance, Rinku aspires to become a doctor.
Acting Career
Rinku was only 14 when she was offered her first feature film, Sairat. Acclaimed director
Nagraj Manjule who was looking to cast young faces for his project auditioned Rinku at Akluj in 2013. It was only a year later that Rinku bagged the role and went on the act in one of the best movies the Marathi film industry as seen. Sairat also marked the debut of her co-star,
Akash Thosar; the on-screen chemistry of the couple was highly praised by audience and critics alike. Rinku flawlessly portrayed the role of Archana, a rebellious teenager with a macho-swag who falls in love with a boy belonging to a lower caste. Following Sairat`s success, Rinku also received a Special Mention at the National awards for the movie; making her one of the youngest actors be named at the National Awards. The next year, in 2017, she was cast alongside debutante Nishanth in the Kannada remake of Sairat titled
Manasu Malligey, directed by
S. Narayan. Her 2020 release includes Makeup.
